Ujjiayi Pranayama why this is important?

Ujjiayi Pranayama, is a special breathing exorcise that calms and relaxes the mind and heats the body from with in to detoxify. Ujjayi comes from the Sanskrit word “ujjayi,” which means “to conquer” or “to be victorious.” It connects posture to posture through out your yoga practice. Another great benefit is relaxation and focusing on the present moment or your intension. It will start to calm your mind and body, this practice is an easy way to practice meditation or just to calm your nerves in stress full moment!

How to practice ujjayi breath...

1. Sit in a comfortable seat on the floor, sit tall through your spine, shoulders relaxed, and eyes closed

2.Bring you hands to your knees, palms facing up or down

3. Take a deep inhale through your noise, filling up your lungs as full as you can, exhale the stale air out your mouth. Repeat 3x

4. Inhale through your noise, fill up your lungs, seal your lips, exhale all the air through your noise. Repeat 2x.

5. On your next inhale, keep your lips sealed and constrict the back of your throat. Exhale through your noise, making an "ocean" like sound. Repeat as many times as comfortable.

6. Continue to breath slowing in and our of your noise, Keeping your inhale as long as your exhale. EXAMPLE: try inhaling to the count of 5 and exhaling out for the count of 5

Cautions

With Ujjayi Pranayama breathing, be careful not to tighten your throat, if you experience any pain, stop right away. Do not attempt this particular breathing technique if you have a respiratory condition, such as asthma or emphysema. If you become faint or dizzy, return to your regular breathing. Always work within your own range of limits and abilities. If you have any medical concerns, talk with your doctor before practicing yoga.
